The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday's drawing has reached a record-breaking $1.55 billion.

In the history of Mega Millions, the jackpot is anticipated to be the largest ever.

In the upcoming drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot is expected to reach a staggering $1.55 billion, making it the highest-ever pot for the lottery and surpassing its previous record of $1.537 billion set in October 2018.

The lottery confirmed that no ticket matching Friday night's numbers, which were 11, 30, 45, 52, 56, and a gold Mega Ball 20, won the jackpot.

For Tuesday's drawing, the estimated cash option is $757.2 million.

Before Friday's drawing, the lottery game's jackpot had increased to an estimated $1.35 billion, which would have made it the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever and the fourth-largest in U.S. lotto history when considering Powerball jackpots as well.

If the Mega Millions jackpot reaches $1.55 billion, it would be the third-largest U.S. lottery drawing, following a $1.586 billion Powerball in January 2016 and a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot in November 2022.

Since its last win on April 18, the jackpot has been steadily increasing, and Friday's drawing was the 31st in this current series without a jackpot winner.

In a statement, Gretchen Corbin, Georgia Lottery President, and CEO, and lead director of the Mega Millions Consortium, expressed that there is always a sense of excitement across the country when Mega Millions jackpots reach soaring heights. She emphasized that the growing jackpot not only provides entertainment and winnings for players but also generates significant funds for the good causes supported by each lottery. Corbin expressed gratitude towards the players, appreciation for the hardworking retailers, and a reminder to everyone to play responsibly.

To win the jackpot, players must match all five numbers and the Mega Ball number. However, the odds of winning the jackpot are quite challenging, standing at 1 in 302,575,350.

In the past, there have been four previous $1 billion Mega Millions jackpots won, which occurred in 2018, 2021, 2022, and January 2023.

Mega Millions is available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The cost of a single ticket for one play is $2.
